- Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 1.0
An application that uses Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 may stop responding when the application runs a query against an IBM DB2 database. Additionally, you may notice that the CPU usage spikes to 100 percent.
This problem occurs if OLE DB Provider for DB2 does not try to retrieve the next block of data by using a "continue query" command before the IBM DB2 "idle thread time-out" interval expires.
- The "continue query" command is the CNTQRY command.
- The IBM DB2 "idle thread time-out" interval is the value of the IDTHTOIN parameter.
This problem occurs because OLE DB Provider for DB2 does not correctly process a TCP/IP socket error. The TCP/IP socket error occurs when IBM DB2 times out the TCP/IP connection when the IBM DB2 "idle thread time-out" interval expires.
