SYMPTOMS

When you submit many ANY queries to a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based Domain Name System (DNS) server, the DNS server may eventually crash.

This problem occurs if you use the DNS server plug-in interface to submit the ANY queries to the DNS Server service in Windows Server 2003.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the DNS Server service does not handle the ANY queries correctly. In this scenario, the DNS Server service experiences memory corruption. Therefore, the computer may crash.
