SYMPTOMS
A user opens a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form in the browser, edits the data, saves the changes, and then keeps the form open. You can open the same form, edit the data, and then save the form without any warning message that the form is still opened by the first user.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use Microsoft Office SharePoint checkout functionality to avoid document editing conflicts.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
