SYMPTOMS

You try to install the Microsoft SoftGrid Virtual Application Server. However, the installation is not successful, and you receive an error message that resembles the following:

The installation program encountered an error when attempting to execute a database statement. Internal Query Processor Error: The query processor encountered an unexpected error during execution.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server database is installed to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server to version 3.2.0.311 or to a later version.
