SYMPTOMS
When you try to open an application in Microsoft SoftGrid, the operation is unsuccessful. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
- The application name or version ends with a period (.) character.
- The application name or version does not exist in the cache.
MORE INFORMATION
For example, this issue may occur in the following scenarios:
- The application name and version in the cache is SoftGrid Example Application 7.0. The application is opened from the command line by using the following command:
sfttray.exe "SoftGrid Example Application 7."
However, the following command should be used instead:
sfttray.exe "SoftGrid Example Application 7.0"
- The application name and version in the cache is SoftGrid Example Application 7.0. The application is opened from a shortcut in which the target contains the following text:
"C:\Program Files\Softricity\SoftGrid for Windows Desktops\sfttray.exe" "SoftGrid Example Application 7."
However, the following text should be used instead:
"C:\Program Files\Softricity\SoftGrid for Windows Desktops\sfttray.exe" "SoftGrid Example Application 7.0"
If the application name or version ends with a period and exists in the cache, this issue does not occur.
