Error message when you try to start the SoftGrid Client "Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx01-00031007"

SUMMARY

When you try to start Microsoft SoftGrid, the program does not respond and you receive the following error message:

The SoftGrid Client could not launch the application you requested.
The SoftGrid Client cannot determine whether you are trying to launch an application or what type of application you would like to launch because there did not seem to be an OSD file on the command line. Please check the command you specified and try again.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx01-00031007

When this problem occurs, the following entry is logged in the SoftGrid Client log file (Sftlog.txt):

No information is available at this time.

Additionally, the following entry is logged in the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server log file (Sft-server.log):

No information is logged to sft-server.log for this error code.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the following conditions are true:

  • The application is started by using a shortcut that refers to an application that does not exist in the SoftGrid Client cache.

This condition is typical when a user creates a custom shortcut to an application that is later removed from the SoftGrid Client cache.


  • The application is started from the command line, and the following conditions are true:
    • The command-line command is sfttray.exe.
    • The command-line options are not all in lowercase or are missing.


Note The command-line options are case sensitive.

  • The application is started from the command line, and the following conditions are true:
    • The command-line command is sfttray.exe.
    • The application name is not formatted by using the correct case.


Note The application name is case sensitive.
