SYMPTOMS
When you use Desktop Standard Profile Maker to map a shared printer, users receive the following error message on the computer that is running the Profile Maker client:
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the user who is using the Profile Maker client does not have sufficient permissions to install a shared printer on the computer. This issue also occurs when the Profile Maker client is running in a terminal server session. Such terminal server sessions include Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions or Citrix terminal server sessions.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
- If the Profile Maker client is started on a client computer, make sure that the Profile Maker client is started by using the /a command-line switch.
- If the Profile Maker client is started in a terminal server session, you must change the policy to let users create a shared printer.
