APPLIES TO

  • Zune Digital Media Player

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
The battery in the Zune device is very low and a full-screen battery icon with an exclamation mark appears on the device. You connect the Zune device to a power source and the device starts. The Home screen appears, and then the Zune device restarts.

This process may repeat several times.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the Zune device starts before the battery contains a sufficient charge to support the device.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Leave the Zune device connected to a power source until the Home screen appears and remains on the Zune device. Do not disconnect the device until the Home screen appears. The appearance of the Home screen indicates that the battery has a strong charge.

MORE INFORMATION

To charge the battery as quickly as possible, connect the Zune device to a high power USB port or to the Zune AC Adapter or Zune Car Charger.

Notes

  • Typically, high power USB ports are located on the back of the computer.
  • The Zune AC Adapter and the Zune Car Charger are sold separately.
