When you play audio files on your Zune 30GB device, the sound may occasionally stop momentarily. The sound then immediately continues.

This behavior occurs when you play an AAC type of audio file. This was a known issue with the Zune 30GB device.

Try one or more of the following steps in the order listed:

  1. Connect the Zune device to the computer that has the current Zune software installed, and then update the device to the current device software version. For more information about how to update the software on a Zune device, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  2. Play .mp3 or .wma type files.

AAC audio types include files that have the following file name extensions:

  • .mp4
  • .m4a
  • .m4b
  • .mov
