The Zune device starts when you press the "Play/Pause" button even though you set the Hold switch to the locked position

SYMPTOMS

After you set the Hold switch on your Zune device to the locked position, the device starts anyway when you press the Play/Pause button [GRAPHIC: Play/Pause button].

Note After you set the Hold switch to the locked position, the device should not start when you press the Play/Pause button [GRAPHIC: Play/Pause button].

CAUSE

This is a known issue with the Zune device. When the device is critically low on battery power, the device does not recognize the status of the Hold switch.

THINGS TO TRY

1. Put the Zune device in a location where the Play/Pause button [GRAPHIC: Play/Pause button] is unlikely to be pressed, and then charge the device.
