To use the Zune software, the computer must meet the following hardware and software requirements.
Operating system
Both 32-bit versions and 64-bit versions of the following Microsoft operating systems:
- Windows Vista Home Basic

- Windows Vista Business
- Windows Vista Enterprise
- Windows Vista Ultimate
- Windows Vista Starter
Or 32-bit versions of the following Microsoft operating systems:
- Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2)
- Windows XP Professional SP2
- Windows XP Tablet PC Edition SP2
- Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 together with Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (update rollup 900325)

The Zune software is currently not supported on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition or on Windows Server 2003.
