SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. On a Microsoft Outlook client computer, you copy data from a basic appointment. Then, you paste this data into a blank appointment to create a new appointment. You export these appointments to a Personal Folders file (.pst). Then, you import these appointments into another Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox. When you use Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac to view the calendar for this mailbox, you may notice that one of the appointments is missing. When you use Microsoft Outlook Web Access or Outlook to view the calendar for this mailbox, both appointments appear as expected.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Unique Identifier (UID) data in the iCal section of the appointment is the same for both appointments. Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac uses the UID data to determine whether an appointment is unique. If the UID data is the same for both appointments, Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac treats the appointments as a single appointment. Only the first appointment appears in the calendar even if the appointments have a different date or a different location.
WORKAROUND
The work around this problem, manually create each appointment instead pasting data from a basic appointment into a blank appointment.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
