When you try to compile an application by using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, you receive the following error message:

C2039 : MemberName is not a member of ClassName

Note In this error message, MemberName is a placeholder for the name of the class member. ClassName is a placeholder for the name of the class.

This problem occurs because scope resolution operators are used in the code for the application. Therefore, the Visual Studio .NET 2003 compiler does not perform the name lookup correctly.
