The free trial subscription lets you try a Zune Pass subscription before you purchase the subscription. The 14-day trial subscription was a limited-time offer that is no longer being continued. Current trial codes can still be redeemded, but the trial codes are not included in our current packaging.

To redeem a free, 14-day trial subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Start the Zune Software
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. Type your Windows Live ID and password, and then click Sign In.


Note If you cannot sign in to Zune Marketplace because you do not have a Zune account, click Create new account.

  1. Click Settings > Account > Redeem Code, and then follow the instructions to redeem your code.

The same Terms of Use (TOU) and policies that apply to a Zune Pass one-month and three-month subscription also apply to the free, 14-day trial subscription.

Q: Do I need a credit card to redeem the trial subscription?

A: No, a credit card is not required to sign up for a free, 14-day trial subscription.

Q: I’ve enjoyed my trial subscription to the Zune Marketplace. How do I sign up for a Zune pass one-month or three-month subscription?

A: To purchase a monthly music subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Start the Zune Software.

A: You can use Microsoft Points to buy songs and albums from the Zune Marketplace. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Start the Zune Software.
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. Type your Windows Live ID and password, and then click Sign In.

  1. Click Settings > Account > Buy Points, and then follow the instructions to purchase Microsoft Points. Note If you do not want to use a credit card to purchase Microsoft Points, you can purchase a prepaid Microsoft Points card from a participating retailer.

Q: Can I have more than one trial subscription?

A: If you received a free, 14-day, trial subscription through the purchase of your Zune device, you are limited to one trial subscription per account.

If you do not renew the subscription within the 14-day trial period, you will not have access to the content in the subscription after the 14-day trial period ends.
