You may be unable to use the following components at the same time in Microsoft Windows XP or in Microsoft Windows 2000:
- A Nortel virtual private network (VPN) client
- The Internet Protocol security (IPsec) implementation that is built into both Windows XP and Windows 2000
In this situation, you cannot use a VPN tunnel to access resources on an enterprise network on which Domain and Server Isolation policies are deployed.
This issue is resolved in Nortel VPN Client V6.01. This version of Nortel VPN Client is compatible with Windows IPsec. Nortel VPN Client V6.01 is available for download for computers that are running Windows XP or Windows 2000.
Note The Nortel VPN connection must be configured to use Network Address Translation (NAT) Traversal to run at the same time as Windows IPsec. NAT Traversal is configured on the Nortel VPN device (edge server) and is not configured on the VPN client. Nortel VPN Client users should contact their Nortel VPN administrator or their help desk for help in obtaining either of the following:
- The correct version of Nortel VPN Client
- A VPN connection that is configured to use NAT Traversal
