SYMPTOMS
When Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 is crawling content, you experience the following symptoms:
- The crawl does not make any progress and appears to stall.
- The crawl logs show no new crawled documents.
The following event appears in the Application log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7013
Computer:Server Name
Description: The update was paused because the disk is full. Free up disk space to continue crawling the index.- You cannot delete, stop, or pause the content source.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because there is insufficient disk space.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, perform one of the following actions:
- Reset the index.
- Free some disk space. To do this, delete unnecessary content, or add another hard disk.
Use the Stsadm.exe command-line tool to move the catalog. To do this, use one of the following methods, depending on your scenario:
Method 1: The index server is out of disk space
Each index server can be the indexer for many Shared Services Providers (SSPs). You can move the indexes for each SSP by typing the following command at the command prompt:
stsadm.exe -o editssp –indexlocationindex file path
Method 2: One of the query servers is out of disk space
You can move the single index location by typing the following command at the command prompt:
stsadm.exe –o osearch –propagationlocationindex file path
