SYMPTOMS
When you try to paste a link to a Microsoft Office Excel 2007 chart object in Microsoft Office Word 2007, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Additionally, the link to the chart object is not pasted in the Word 2007 document.
This problem occurs if you try to paste a link to an Excel 2007 chart object as a bitmap or as a Microsoft Office Graphic Object.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Word 2007 does not support the bitmap format or the Microsoft Office Graphic Object format to link to a chart object.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, paste the link in one of the following formats:
- Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object
- Picture (Windows Metafile)
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
