The hotfix that is discussed in this article is unavailable for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

When you run the Competitor Win Loss report in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you receive the following error message:

An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Get Online Help Query execution failed for data set 'DSCompetitor'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
Get Online Help Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_#CompetitorOppId_6E2A4145'.
Cannot insert duplicate key in object '#CompetitorOppIds_000200005F7F'.
The statement has been terminated.

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • You use the Country/Region filter for an opportunity.
  • You close the opportunity two times.
  • You use a different status reason every time that you close the opportunity.


RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Installation information

Install this hotfix on computers that are running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Server.

After you install the hotfix, replace the original Competitor Win Loss report and the original Competitor Win Loss Details report with the corresponding modified reports in the hotfix. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web client as a user whose role has the Manage Reports permission.
  2. Replace the original Competitor Win Loss report with the modified Competitor Win Loss report. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Workplace, and then click Reports.
    2. In the Category list, click Sales Reports.
    3. Click the line of the Competitor Win Loss report.
    4. On the More Actions menu, click Edit Report.
    5. Make sure that the File option is selected in the Source area.
    6. Click Browse next to the Location box.
    7. In the Choose file dialog box, locate the Competitor Win Loss.rdl file.

      Note By default, the Competitor Win Loss.rdl file is in the following directory:

      C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\KB925247

    8. Click the file, and then click Open.
    9. Click Save and Close.

    Note If you want to use the original Competitor Win Loss report again, follow steps 2a through 2i. However, in step 2g, select the original Competitor Win Loss.rdl file. By default, the original Competitor Win Loss.rdl file is in the following directory:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Reports\MSCRM

  3. Replace the original Competitor Win Loss Details report with the modified Competitor Win Loss Details report. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Workplace, and then click Reports.
    2. In the Category list, click Hidden Reports.
    3. Click the line of the Competitor Win Loss Details report.
    4. On the More Actions menu, click Edit Report.
    5. Make sure that the File option is selected in the Source area.
    6. Click Browse next to the Location box.
    7. In the Choose file dialog box, locate the Competitor Win Loss Details.rdl file.

      Note By default, the Competitor Win Loss Details.rdl file is in the following directory:

      C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\KB925247

    8. Click the file, and then click Open.
    9. Click Save and Close.

    Note If you want to use the original Competitor Win Loss Details report again, follow steps 3a through 3i. However, in step 3g, select the original Competitor Win Loss Details.rdl file. By default, the original Competitor Win Loss Details.rdl file is in the following directory:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Reports\MSCRM

Note When you complete these steps, any customized modifications that you made to the original reports are lost.

No prerequisites are required to apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

If you are prompted, restart the computer after you install the hotfix.

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows 2000, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000.

The Spuninst.exe tool is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB925247$\Spuninst folder.
