Error message when you try to edit HTML content that is hosted on SharePoint Server 2007: "An error has occurred in the script on this page"

Article ID: 924801

Article Last Modified on 5/14/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

SYMPTOMS

You use an HTML editor, such as Microsoft Office FrontPage, that is compatible with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services to edit HTML content. The HTML content is hosted on a computer that is running Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. When you click the Styles list, you receive the following error message:

An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line 4064
Char 2
Error Access is Denied
Code 0

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the HTML content references a Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) file or a table definition file that resides on a different computer. SharePoint Server 2007 does not support the ability to edit HTML content that references CSS files or table definition files that reside on a different computer.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
