APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows CE 5.0

SYMPTOMS

When you connect a universal serial bus (USB) wireless network adapter to a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0-based device, the Wireless Zero Configuration service may not return all the available wireless access points.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Remote Network Driver Interface Specification (RNDIS) maximum buffer size (MAXIMUM_DEVICE_MESSAGE_SIZE) is too small to hold all the information that is passed from the USB connected RNDIS device. The value of the MAXIMUM_DEVICE_MESSAGE_SIZE constant is defined as 0x400. This value causes the message size to be limited to 1024 bytes.

RESOLUTION
