SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to a 2007 Microsoft Office suite, some of the programs and tools from an earlier Microsoft Office suite are still installed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • The 2007 Office suite differs from the earlier Office suite. For example, Microsoft Office Standard and Microsoft Office Professional are different suites.
  • The earlier Office suite has a program that is not in the 2007 Office suite.

MORE INFORMATION

You can still use the programs that were not removed from the earlier Office suite when you upgraded to 2007 Office. Those programs will still function as expected. If you have to use one of the earlier versions of the Office tools, you must use the appropriate Office tool for the version of the program that you are using. To do this, use one of the following methods:

  • For Microsoft Office XP and earlier versions of Office, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Microsoft Office Tools.
  • For Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 Office programs, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, and then click Microsoft Office Tools.
