The GetThreadLocale function returns an incorrect user locale for remote users of a terminal server that is running Windows 2000 Server

Article ID: 924607

Article Last Modified on 5/16/2007

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

Consider the following scenario. You remotely log on to a terminal server that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. You then set the user locale by using the Regional Options item in Control Panel. In this scenario, the GetThreadLocale function returns this user locale for every subsequent remote user, even though the Regional Options setting is different.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
