RAPID PUBLISHING

RAPID PUBLISHING ARTICLES PROVIDE INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO EMERGING OR UNIQUE TOPICS, AND MAY BE UPDATED AS NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

SYMPTOMS

You have no mail flow between Lotus Notes and Exchange. In the queues in the Exchange System manager you see mail messages build up in the ReadyOut folder. You will also notice mail messages on the Lotus Notes server sitting in the exchange.box file. When you enable the browser logging for the Lotus Notes connector by creating the logs folder in the program files\exchsrvr\conndata folder. You then see the following in the text file when you restart the Lotus Notes connector in the logs file.

LME-NOTES(13c4) 2 00501:A NORMAL SHUTDOWN request has been received
LME-NOTES-MEXIN(10a4) 2 00501:A NORMAL SHUTDOWN request has been received
LME-NOTES-MEXIN(10a4) 3 00505:LME-NOTES-MEXIN is ending, last return code was {A
shutdown request was made}
LME-NOTES-MEXIN(10a4) 3 31011:Exchange Server Interface successfully terminated:
Inbound
LME-NOTES-MEXOUT(1540) 2 00501:A NORMAL SHUTDOWN request has been received
LME-NOTES-MEXOUT(1540) 3 00505:LME-NOTES-MEXOUT is ending, last return code was {A
shutdown request was made}
LME-NOTES-MEXOUT(1540) 3 31101:Processed 1 messages since last restart (0)
LME-NOTES-MEXOUT(1540) 3 31011:Exchange Server Interface successfully terminated:
Outbound
LME-NOTES-DXA(1700) 2 00501:A NORMAL SHUTDOWN request has been received
LME-NOTES-DXA(1700) 3 00505:LME-NOTES-DXA is ending, last return code was {A
shutdown request was made}
LME-NOTES(13c4) 4 10153:Subtask LME-NOTES-MEXIN(D:\Program
Files\Exchsrvr\bin\Lsmexin.exe) has ended with return code 11
LME-NOTES(13c4) 4 10153:Subtask LME-NOTES-MEXOUT(D:\Program
Files\Exchsrvr\bin\Lsmexout.exe) has ended with return code 11

Eventually you may see the following

LME-NOTES-DXA(0fb4) 3 00504:LME-NOTES-DXA started
LME-NOTES-NTSMEX(0400) 2 01211:Error {Timeout on resource lock}: Unable to lock the
LME-NOTESOPEN shared memory object
LME-NOTES-NTSMEX(0400) 2 41209:Failed to initialize Notes Helper Class
LME-NOTES-NTSMEX(0400) 1 00510:Error {GRC:a}: The application failed to
initialize.
LME-NOTES-NTSMEX(0400) 3 00505:LME-NOTES-NTSMEX is ending, last return code was
{GRC:a}
LME-NOTES-NTSMEX(0400) 1 41220:Error: no Notes Session Open

CAUSE

This is because something has locked the LME-Notes processes for the Lotus Notes connector . This is typically caused by file level anti-virus installed on the Exchange server and does not have any exclusions set.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue set file level exclusions in the anti-virus software.
