APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition for Itanium-Based Systems
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition for Itanium-based Systems

SYMPTOMS

When a system failure occurs on a computer that is running an Itanium-based version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003, incorrect return values about the system firmware may be recorded in the dump file. Because of this problem, the computer may incorrectly determine that a system reset has occurred. Therefore, the computer may restart more slowly than it would if the correct return values were recorded.
