Question:

I have MS-DOS Version 4.01 and have installed ANSI.SYS in my CONFIG.SYS file. The PRINT SCREEN key will not work if ANSI.SYS is installed. If I remove the ANSI.SYS line out of my CONFIG.SYS file and reboot the machine, the PRINT SCREEN key works properly. Why won’t the PRINT SCREEN key work when ANSI.SYS is installed?

Response:

With some extended keyboards, there is a conflict with the PRINT SCREEN key and the ANSI.SYS driver provided with MS-DOS Version 4.00 or 4.01. You can work around this problem either by removing ANSI.SYS from your CONFIG.SYS file and rebooting, or by using the ANSI.SYS driver provided with MS-DOS Version 3.30.
