SUMMARY

DASDDRVR.SYS is a device driver that corrects problems that occur when reading and writing 720K 3.5-inch disks on IBM PS/2 machines running under PC-DOS 3.3. The problem affects the IBM PS/2 Model 50 (BIOS date 02/13/87), Model 60 (BIOS date 02/13/87), and Model 80 (BIOS date 03/30/87).

A common error that may occur in the absence of this driver is “Not Ready Error Reading Drive X.”

This driver is normally included on the PS/2 Reference Disk. You can also obtain the driver from any authorized IBM dealer.

Use the following procedure to install the driver:

  1. Copy the driver to the root directory of your hard drive.

  2. Add the following line to your CONFIG.SYS file:

    device=c:.sys

  3. Reboot your computer.
