To undo a renumbering of paragraphs in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 4.0 and 5.0, do the following:
- Select the paragraph(s) from which you want to remove numbering.
- Choose Renumber from the Tools menu (from the Utilities menu in Word 4.0).
- Select the Remove option and click OK.
The following are two additional ways to remove paragraph numbering:
Select Undo Renumber from the Edit Menu immediately after applying the Renumber command.
If this is not possible, follow these instructions to remove the numbering:
Hold down the OPTION key.
With the mouse, drag over the numbers and their respective tab markers, or press SHIFT+click while holding down the OPTION key.
Press the BACKSPACE or DEL key. This removes numbering, but only works if you have Word 4.0 or 5.0.
