Excel: Turn Off Status/Formula Bar to Print Screen Dump
To print a screen dump of the active window to the ImageWriter using Microsoft Excel version 2.2, 3.0 or 4.0, the status bar and formula bar must be turned off.
To print a copy of the entire screen, it is not necessary to turn off the status bar or scroll bar.
To print only the active window, do the following:
- Turn off the status bar and formula bar as follows:
a. From the Options menu, choose Workspace.
b. Under Display, deselect the check boxes for Status Bar and Formula Bar.
c. Choose OK.
- With the status bar and formula bar turned off, press COMMAND+SHIFT+4 to send a printout of the active window to the ImageWriter.
To print the entire screen, hold down the CAPS LOCK key while pressing COMMAND+SHIFT+4. This sends the entire screen to the ImageWriter.
Pressing COMMAND+SHIFT+4 produces a printout of the active window. When it is turned on, the status bar is the active window. The next active window is the formula bar, followed by the worksheet.
