SUMMARY
The MESSAGE instruction allows for messages of up to 80 characters to be displayed at the bottom of the screen during the execution of a macro. These messages appear whether Word’s command menu is turned on or off.
Page 462 of the “Using Microsoft Word” manual incorrectly states that macro messages will be displayed only if the command menu is turned off.
Messages will not be displayed if the SET ECHO instruction is set to Off.
