Summary:

In Microsoft PowerPoint, it is possible to create objects filled with gradiant shaded color. This is done by creating an Opaque object against a shaded background, cutting (or copying) the object, and then pasting it with the Paste as Picture command.

However, this does not work if the background shading is set to the From Title option in the background shading dialog. Instead, it is necessary to use one of the other shading options.
