SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Works for MS-DOS, you may receive the error message “Bad command or filename” if you choose the Copy Disk or Format Disk commands from the File Management menu when the DOS directory is not located on the DOS path.
WORKAROUND
To correct this problem, add the DOS directory to the PATH statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file located in the root directory. Then, reboot the computer to activate this change, start Works, and retry the Copy Disk and/or Format Disk commands.
