SUMMARY

Adding or removing key commands to items listed in the Work menu in Microsoft Word can be accomplished by using the Assign To Key command.

There are three ways to remove a key command from a Work menu item:

  1. Assign the key combination to another command.

  2. Remove the Assigned Key Command (glossary entries and files only) by doing the following:

    1. From the Edit menu, choose Commands. Select Open File Name (or Glossary Entry).

    2. Click the Open File button (files only).

    3. Select the appropriate file or glossary entry.

    4. Click the key command to be deleted under Keys.

    5. Click the Remove button next to the Keys box.

  3. Delete the Work menu item by doing the following:

    1. Press COMMAND+OPTION+- (hyphen). The cursor should now become a bold hyphen.

    2. Under the Work menu, select the item to be removed.
