- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

Function keystrokes for menu items do not appear beside the menu item when using the Datadesk 101 keyboard with a Macintosh Plus or Macintosh SE. The function keys assigned through the Microsoft Word version 4.00 Commands command can be used to evoke menu items, but won’t be listed beside the menu item.

This limitation remains regardless of whether or not the “Show Menu Function Keys” command is invoked with the Commands command.

The standard Apple keyboard for the Macintosh Plus does not support function keys. Because of this, even though the Datadesk 101 keyboard has and can use the function keys, the menu information to show the special symbols for those keys cannot be shown on the menus of a Plus.
