This article describes how to access the Microsoft Knowledge Base on GEnie (General Electric Network for Information Exchange).

The following steps reach the Knowledge Base on GEnie:
- Log onto the GEnie system with user identification. (Note that you can type “bye” to log off of GEnie when done.)
- Type “M505” (without the quotation marks) to move to Page 505. This is a quick way to reach the Microsoft RoundTable and Knowledge Base area.
- Type “6” (without the quotation marks) at the “P 505?” prompt to go to the Knowledge Base menu.
- Type “1” (without the quotation marks) at the “enter #” prompt to search the Knowledge Base.
You can now type in a query to search for articles.
