The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 1.x, 2.0, and 3.0

Summary:

To export files from WingZ into Microsoft Works, do the following:

  1. Open the document in WingZ.
  2. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  3. Select text from the pop-up menu and click Save.
  4. This file can be opened into the Database, Spreadsheet, or Word Processor modules of Microsoft Works.

To export Microsoft Works files to WingZ, use one of the following methods:

Method 1

To retain maximum formatting, copy the data into a Works spreadsheet, and save the file as SYLK. To do this, do the following from the Works spreadsheet:

  1. Open the file and choose Save As from the File menu.

  2. In Works 2.00, type a name for the file and click the Export button.

    Select the “SYLK (to Multiplan or Excel)” option and save the file.

    The file retains its formatting when it is opened into WingZ.

    In Works 3.00, type a name for the file and choose the SYLK option

    from File Format menu.

Method 2

To transfer text from the Database and Word Processor modules, do the following:

  1. Open the file and choose Save As from the File menu.

  2. In Works 2.00, click the Export button, then click Save.

    In Works 3.00, choose TEXT from the File Format menu.

  3. Open the resulting file into WingZ.
