Summary:
Microsoft Excel cannot import Lotus 1-2-3 files saved with the .WKE file format. This format is created only by the Student Version of LOTUS 1-2-3. Renaming the file with the standard .WKS or .WK1 format will not affect Excel ability to import the files.
The Student Version 2.01 of Lotus 1-2-3 allows you to save files in only one format (.WKE). There is no procedure to save a file in any other format; thus, there is no way for Excel to read these files.
