SUMMARY
When using Bitstream Fontware for Microsoft Word version 5.00 in OS/2 version 1.10, a protection violation will occur while Fontware is copying over new typeface outlines from the floppy disk. To reproduce the problem, follow the steps shown below:
- From the main menu, choose Add/Delete Fontware Typefaces.
- Press F3 to add a typeface.
- Insert the Typeface Outline Disk in Drive A and press ENTER.
- Select the typefaces to copy to the hard disk.
- Press F10 to copy the files.
The following OS/2 error message will appear:
SYS1943: A program caused a protection violation.
The following are two workarounds:
- Add the new typefaces from the DOS compatibility box, where this protection violation does not occur.
- Use the DOS DISKCOPY command and make copies of the typeface disk. Use these copied disks when adding typefaces.
