Page 230 of the “Printer Information for Microsoft Word” version 5.0 manual indicates that after setting the mod field of byte:4 to 1, Word suppresses a form feed after the ESC key is pressed to cancel a print job.
However, after making this change to the printer driver, the form feed is not suppressed.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 5.0. This problem was corrected in Word version 5.5.
