Word 5.00: Importing Graphics from Pageview

SUMMARY
Page 391 of the “Using Microsoft Word” manual states that Microsoft Pageview picture files may be imported and printed from Microsoft Word version 5.0. Pageview files can be imported only if they have been copied into Pageview through the Windows Clipboard as a bitmap. If the files have been copied to the Clipboard prior to printing in Pageview using another format, the graphics are not compatible with Word version 5.0.

To copy files into the Clipboard as a bitmap (for example using Excel), the following procedure should be used:
- Select the chart or a section of the spreadsheet.
- Hold down the SHIFT key and select the Edit menu. Choose Copy Picture.
- Hold down SHIFT and choose “as shown on screen” for both Appearance and Size. (This step is incorrectly omitted on Page 395 of the “Using Microsoft Word” manual).
- Hold down SHIFT and choose OK.
The selection in the Clipboard should now say Bitmap.
