The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

If a replacement word is chosen from the Word Finder desk accessory (DA) and Microsoft Word version 4.0 for the Macintosh replaces the word one character at a time in the working document, it’s likely that the wrong version of Word Finder is being used with Word. This behavior occurs only with (retail) version 1.0 of Word Finder.

To use Word Finder with Word 4.0, install only the versions of the Word Finder and Word Finder Thesaurus that are shipped with Word. The version of the DA is listed as “For MS-WORD v2.4.4” in the About Word Finder dialog box (on the WF menu).

Microlytics, Inc., the maker of Word Finder, is researching this problem. Microlytics can be reached at:

This problem was corrected in version 5.0 of Word for the Macintosh.
