The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh versions 4.0, 5.0 5.1

SUMMARY

The INCLUDE statement in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh version 4.0 uses the following syntax:

<<INCLUDE document_name>>

The document listed within the INCLUDE statement must be in the same folder as the main document. The INCLUDE statement does not support the ability to include a path for the document (for example, hard disk:folder:document name).

This feature has been returned to Word version 5.0 and later. In Word version 5.0 and later, when using the INCLUDE command you can specify the path of the file to be included. The ability to indicate a document’s path in an INCLUDE statement was also an undocumented feature in Word versions 3.0x.
