The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 1.x, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0

SUMMARY

When you perform a record selection on a Microsoft Works Database field for a range of numbers, an unexpected range of numbers may be returned. For example, if the selection is set to be the range from 1 to 15, the only records returned may be those numbered 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.

If the field upon which the selection is being performed is formatted as text, Works does a record selection on the text values based on the first character of the field for each record.

MORE INFORMATION

To find the desired records, change the field type to “numeric” by doing the following:

  1. Select the column containing the numbers for the selection.
  2. From the Format menu, choose Set Field Attributes.
  3. Select Numeric and choose the OK button.
