The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 1.0, 3.0, 3.0a, 4.0 - Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, versions 1.1, 3.0, 4.0

While editing a Project for Windows and Macintosh base calendar file or custom calendar (Options Base Calendar), if you delete the entry in the first “From” field, the entire day is made nonworking, even if there is working information still in the remainder of the fields. This feature prevents bad starting times from being entered that might otherwise cause the project critical path to be incorrectly calculated.

NOTE: Microsoft Project for Windows 4.0 gives you an error message of “the shift must have a starting time.”
