The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 1.0, 3.0, 3.0a - Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, versions 1.1, 3.0

The Microsoft Project for Windows and Macintosh Edit Goto command always goes to the first occurrence of an “ID” field that it finds. Therefore, if you have merged information from two different projects into a new window, you will have duplicate ID numbers. If you do an Edit Goto on one of the duplicate ID numbers, Project always finds the first instance of the ID number, even if the Goto is started from the first ID number. In these cases, we suggest using the Edit Find command to find all records that share the Goto criteria.
