SUMMARY
NEC LC-890 printers using PostScript firmware Version 47, Revision 2 may need to be set into PostScript interactive mode to allow you to print Word documents. To select PostScript interactive mode on the NEC LC-890, copy a text file containing the following PostScript commands (which are case sensitive) to the printer:
statusdict Begin 1 setsoftwareiomode end
After printing the document, set the printer back to PostScript batch mode (the mode used by most programs, including Word) by sending the following text file to the printer:
statusdict Begin 0 setsoftwareiomode end
