- Microsoft Word for MS-DOS versions 5.0, 5.5, 6.0

SUMMARY

For Word version 5.0 to display on one line of the screen an amount of text equal to one printed line, the Options “show line breaks:” field must be set to Yes.

To display line breaks in Word versions 5.5, 6.0, from the View menu, select Preferences, and activate “Line breaks” in the Show check box.

However, when this option is used, lines may extend beyond the right screen boundary, so it is necessary to scroll right to see all the text. In addition, the Ruler may extend out and adjust (widen) to correspond to the printed line breaks.

Earlier versions of Word use the Options “printer display:” field to show the printed line breaks on the screen.
