The information in this article applies to:

SUMMARY
When you choose Cell Protection to hide cells on the screen or when you print, the contents of the cells on the screen and in the printout still show.
MORE INFORMATION
Protecting a cell as hidden hides only the formula; the value still appears in the cell. This option is available to protect formulas from being changed. To hide the contents of cells on the screen, and thus on the printout, do the following:
Version 5.0
- Select the cells you want to hide.
2. From the Format menu, choose Cells. 3. Select the Protection tab and choose Hidden. 4. Select the Number tab and enter the number format.
Version 2.x, 3.x, 4.0
- Select the cells you want to hide.
- From the Format menu, choose Number.
- Create a custom format ;;; (three semicolons with nothing between them).
