Summary:

Word for Windows Message: “Redefine style (name) based on selection?”

You applied some paragraph formatting then chose Styles from the Format menu or pressed the style key (CTRL+S) and typed or selected an existing style name. Word wants to know if you want to change the definition of the style to match the formatting of the selected paragraph.

If you want to change the definition of the style, choose Yes. If you want to apply the style in place of the existing formatting, choose No.

If you want to return to your document without making any changes, choose Cancel.
