  • == Microsoft Word for the Macintosh versions 4.0, 5.0, and 5.1 ==

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, if the size of the page displayed in print preview does not match the paper size you think you have selected in Page Setup, choose Page Setup from the File menu, check the settings, and choose the OK button.

Print preview can update the paper size only after you have chosen the OK button in the Page Setup dialog box.

MORE INFORMATION

The only case in which the page size may not be correct is if you set a custom page size in Preferences while the ImageWriter (or some other printer) is selected in the Chooser. If you select a custom page size in Page Setup, choose the OK button, and change to the LaserWriter in the Chooser, print preview still displays the custom page size. This problem occurs even though the LaserWriter does not support custom page sizes.

Choosing Page Setup reveals that letter size is now selected and no custom-size option appears; however, until you choose the OK button (not the Cancel button) to close the Page Setup dialog box, print preview still displays the previous custom size.
