SUMMARY
Page 296 of the “Reference to Microsoft Word” version 4.0 manual states that up to 55 INCLUDE documents can be nested in a print merge. However, the actual number may be much smaller because of a System limitation on the number of files that can be opened at once (including MultiFinder, the System, and so on).
Page 614 of the “Microsoft Word User’s Guide” for version 5.0 explains why the 55 document limit may vary depending upon the number of currently opened windows.
